InterFace Scam

Have you walked through the mall, whether you are hanging out or shopping, and pass by a few beautiful young males and females? Have they stopped you and told you that your child would be great for modeling or for television and films?

If you sign up, you will get that call to set up an appointment.   You go to this appointment and see tons of people either new to Interface, awaiting a photo-shoot, or awaiting a meeting after the photo-shoot.  Once they call your child’s name you end up in an office where they try to get you to sign up casting website called Project Reality.  This is where you pay a monthly fee to be able to connect with TV casting directors and producers.  This is the first part of the scam where they claim that Project Reality has nothing to do with Interface.

After that, you head to another office where Interface show you examples of headshots and composite cards and try to push you to spend $5,500 for the Elite Custom that includes 8 hours in a private studio rental or the Diamond package that includes photo-shoot that includes 5 outfits which cost $1,895.  After you say, “no thank you,” they will bring the price down to where you might be very comfortable.  If you give in, you will make an appointment for the photo shoot.

Once the day of the photo-shoot arrives and you have spent a bit of money to buy the outfits that they had recommended, you head back to Interface.  This day is quite fun, because you don’t have to pay anything.  You will talk to someone who says that, whatever name they come up with, a big shot person is coming from New York and wants to meet your child.  You set up an appointment and off to do the photo-shoot. After your child puts on their outfit, the make up artist and hairdresser makes them look really good.  Then it’s just waiting for the photographer.

Now, you are ready to meet the person from New York.  Once a random person calls your name, you go to an office with a computer that has the pictures of your child that has not been edited.  Looking at those pictures, causes you to become a little emotional, they just look so cute.  After looking at the pictures, you are then pushed to purchase the copyrights to the pictures for $45 and their magazines monthly service called Backstage, which cost $10 per month. After that room you meet the so-called person from New York.  Where he or she will push you to spend $2,400 for membership fee for 4 years.  The lowest cost is $360 for 3 months membership.  All you are paying for is to have the photographs to be posted on a profile page you create on their website.  You will have to do all the work and find auditions yourself.  They will not call as Interface claimed they would. If you have to do the work yourself, you should not have to pay any membership fees.

The only good thing about Interface is that you will be paying more money for professional headshots anywhere else.   If you are an actor, sign up for the photo-shoot.  Get Interface to lower the cost of the photo-shoot.  Pay for the copyrights.  Walk out the building and block their number.

Do not fall for the Interface scam and expect yourself or your child to get into the industry.
